Hydranet Radial

From the Ullman Voyager Series

Lapworth 62 Aorangi (now Titania)

The last sails a yacht will ever need?

Hydra Net Radial is a cloth manufactured by Dimension Polyant that has revolutionized sail cloth expectations in terms of durability and ruggedness. The magic in the cloth is found in the extremely high share of Spectra and dyneema (Ultra-PE) fibers in the (horizontal) warp direction.

The composition of Hydra Net® radial utilises a tightly woven polyester base and ripstop of Ultra-PE leading to a higher tear strength and is without doubt simply stronger over the extended life of the sail than any woven polyester. When combined with a tri-radial panel layout, the result is unmatched, best in the world shape retention. The applied UVi® coating extends the service life and additionally protects against mildew growth.

Radial Hydranet stands in it’s own league as the best option for large cruising yachts who want to stick with a woven cloth. Although it is one of the most expensive cloth options, the cost is offset by the unbelievable durability it provides, these are often the last sails a boat will ever need.

Spirit 50 Serendipitous sporting a Hydranet Main and Code Zero Silver cloth also by Dimension Polyant.

Our Hydranet customers have; done multiple circumnavigations and ocean races on the same set of sails, cruised the Northwest Passage, done serious heavy water ocean racing, and even used Hydranet as a beautiful lifelong lasting daysailing option.

Hydra Net® radial is now manufactured with bio-based Dyneema® and is 100% climate neutral. It is Dimension’s first sailcloth that carries our cleenTEC® seal for eco-friendly materials. The new bio-based Dyneema® fibers offer identical performance to the classic Dyneema® but are much better for our planet.
