Alex Curtiss , who hails from Chicago Illinois, graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a degree in Economics. He was the captain of the sailing team, and was selected as an ICSA All-American Coed Skipper in 2015 and 2016. In addition, he led the Seahawks to a 3rd place finish at the 2016 ICSA Team Race Nationals. Alex was on the winning team for the United States Match Race Nationals for the Prince of Wales Trophy. More recently Alex has won the 2017 Etchells North Americans, and has been sailing bigger boats such as Santa Cruz 70’s and TP 52’s.
Alex’s sailing background also includes sailing various PHRF boats on Lake Michigan, as well as J105’s with his father. Alex has stepped into the role of One Design Coordinator and will handle all small dinghies, as well as some of the smaller keelboats, J70’s, Melges 24’s and J105’s.
